Education
At New Jersey Community Development Corporation, education is just another word for opportunity. We operate a number of educational initiatives designed to help local residents open their minds and reach their fullest potential
Every community rises and falls with the strength of its schools. The 27,000 student Paterson school district serves some of the poorest students in the state, with 75% qualifying for free or reduced-cost lunches. The students, over half of whom are Latino and a third of whom are African-American, speak more than 37 languages and attend 52 different schools.
It is within this educational climate that New Jersey Community Development Corporation serves the youth of Paterson. Operating an Abbott Preschool, founding a K-4 charter school, and supporting an Innovative Academy high school, NJCDC provides leadership on education reform in the city of Paterson. Our students thrive, succeed, and are ready for the world that awaits them.
