On October 29, the NJCDC pro bono team was honored at the annual Lowenstein Sandler “Pro Bono Celebration,” which was attended by over 100 Lowenstein attorneys and pro bono partners at the firm’s headquarters in Roseland, New Jersey. Members of the team who have been providing free legal services to NJCDC since September 2007 include Steven Brawer, P. Jason Hadley, Adrienne Isacoff, Inshirah Muhammad, and William Munday. Mr. Guarasci continued: “And we are only one of many organizations who benefit from Lowenstein’s generosity. As a firm, Lowenstein Sandler has earned the number one pro bono ranking among New Jersey law firms for the past three years. They have committed more than three percent of billable hours per year to pro bono work, and many non-profits and community organizations like us benefit from this commitment.”

At this annual celebration, Lowenstein Sandler also announced the establishment of the Lowenstein Center for the Public Interest, reaffirming and expanding the firm’s dedication to addressing significant social issues and providing community assistance. The Center will be led by Ken Zimmerman, a Member of the firm and former chief counsel to New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine. As part of the program, five Lowenstein associates will dedicate 25 percent of their time to the Center’s projects and help spearhead the firm’s overall pro bono efforts, which in 2007 involved some 230 lawyers and totaled nearly 19,000 hours of attorney and paralegal participation.
