Thanking Governor Corzine for this prestigious appointment, Mr. Guarasci stated, “I am honored to be chosen to serve the students, faculty, staff, and alumni of this wonderful New Jersey institution of learning. I am committed to their mission of maintaining a tradition of leadership in general education and multiculturalism and promoting student success, academic excellence, and community outreach with opportunities for lifelong learning. As part of this new responsibility and in connection with my work at New Jersey Community Development Corporation, I especially hope to forge a stronger connection between the University and the people of Paterson.”

Founded in the city of Paterson in 1855, William Paterson University is one of the nine state colleges and universities in New Jersey and has a student population of nearly 10,300 students. Set on 370 wooded acres in Wayne, New Jersey, the campus is located just 20 miles west of New York City. There are currently 14 members of the Univesity Board of Trustees. As noted in the William Paterson University Statement of Trustee Responsibilities and Expectations, “[t]rusteeship is a generous and selfless act of public service requiring commitment, engagement and dedication to the mission of William Paterson University, the needs of its multiple and diverse public and private constituencies and the overall public good.” NJCDC congratulates Bob on this well-deserved honor and important undertaking.
