Paterson Family Center Receives Accreditation

NJCDC CEO Bob Guarasci is pleased to announce that NJCDC’s Paterson Family Center (PFC) has received accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). NAEYC is a professional organization that promotes excellence within the early childhood education industry. According to Guarasci, “obtaining NAEYC accreditation has been an important objective of ours and I am proud of our team for their hard work in earning this prestigious designation.”
This accreditation is a major accomplishment for the Paterson Family Center. The faculty and staff are proud of their new status as a NAEYC certified childcare center. When asked what NAEYC accreditation means to the Paterson Family Center, the school’s director, Ms. Renee Hooks said, “Our teachers and staff worked hard to get this accreditation. It signifies that we are a childcare center of high quality in terms of our education and services that we provide to our children and our families.”
To NJCDC, quality education is an important component of revitalizing Paterson, and it continues to play a prominent role in strengthen families and communities. Understanding the importance of establishing a strong and enthusiastic foundation for learning, the Paterson Family Center provides 105 three and four year-old Paterson children with a developmentally appropriate curriculum and qualified staff committed to their growth and education. With a certified teacher, teacher’s assistant and computers in every classroom, each child is guaranteed the individual time and attention they deserve.
Providing more than just preschool, the Paterson Family Center offers support to the entire family through after-school programming that supports working parents, as well as clinical staff to connect families to needed resources. NAEYC accreditation further indicates the Center’s dedication to serving Paterson’s youngest citizens.
