17th Anniversary Dinner Yields Record-Breaking Results

On October 19th, 2011 NJCDC held its annual Anniversary Dinner celebration in honor of 17 years of service to the Paterson community. The Premier Event Underwriters were TD Bank, The Daleo Family, PSE&G and Thomson Reuters. This year’s honorees included Governor Chris Christie and Don Buckley, Market President at TD Bank. The event took place at the beautiful Brownstone House in Paterson, New Jersey and it was the most successful NJCDC fundraising event to date.

The night began with a cocktail hour where over 400 attendees spent an hour networking accompanied by the expressive sounds of Body and Soul—a jazz quintet made up of Paterson High School students from Rosa Parks School of Fine and Performing Arts. Following the cocktail hour, the reception included award acceptance speeches from Don Buckley and Commissioner Jennifer Velez on behalf of Governor Christie. Vaughn McKoy, Director of Corporate Responsibility & Sustainability at PSEG gave a heart-felt farewell address, officially stepping down from the NJCDC Board of Trustees after 17 years of service (Vaughn will be starting up NJCDC’s new Corporate Advisory Council).

Between ticket-sales, sponsorships, raffles and 50/50 tickets, NJCDC raised close to $375,000! NJCDC’s CEO Bob Guarasci was gratified by the event. “Each year our Anniversary Gala is held to celebrate the many accomplishments of our work and the individuals who help make our success possible. We are extremely grateful for our dedicated donors and supporters—without them, our work would not be possible.”

As one of Paterson’s leading community-based organizations, NJCDC’s mission is to inspire and empower people with opportunities to transform lives and communities.
