Great Falls Advisory Commission Designated

Congressman Bill Pascrell announced the members chosen to be on the Great Falls Advisory Commission.  Appointed by Ken Salazer, U.S. Secretary of the Interior, the eight member board included Bob Guarasci, CEO and founder of NJCDC, and the following committed individuals:

  • Dr. Leslie Agard Jones, a former William Paterson University dean of education.
  • Karen Brown, Paterson municipal judge and a former Passaic County clerk.
  • Susan Cole, president of Montclair State University.
  • Pasquale DiIanni, lifelong resident and volunteer with the Paterson Boys Club band and Kiwanis Club.
  • James Pepper, a former National Parks Service official.
  • Thomas Rooney, former Paterson mayor and councilman.
  • Leonard Zax, president of the Hamilton Partnership for Paterson.

The Great Falls Advisory Commission will meet four times a year, beginning in October, and work towards creating a general management plan to be integrated with the design of the park.  The board will also keep community members informed about park plans.  NJCDC is particularly interested in ensuring that local residents have opportunities to fully participate in the park’s development.
