Great Falls Youth Corps Launched to Beautify Historic Park

On July 12, 2010, the Great Falls Youth Corps officially reported to work for their summer tenure as full time workers helping to launch America’s newest National Park: the Great Falls National Historical Park. This group of 25 young adults from Paterson and the surrounding region will work towards preserving and improving the future national park while simultaneously learning about its unique environment, industrial history, and role in urbanization.  Congressman Bill Pascrell addressed the group and initiated them by performing a ceremonial “walk of the upper raceway” where the long-time Congressman talked about history of the area and the different projects Youth Corps members will be working on this summer and beyond.
