Youth Build WebThe Attorney General announced that the state would be providing $3 million in new grant money to support and expand YouthBuild programs statewide.  Included in this allocation is over $600,000 for NJCDC to expand the current Great Falls YouthBuild program.  The expansion will involve increased linkages with the Paterson Public Schools as well as the state’s Juvenile Justice Commission, and will allow NJCDC to build relationships with labor unions and public agencies involved in public works projects in order to secure job opportunities for the program’s graduates.  YouthBuild is a national program serving thousands of young men and women in need of a second chance and provides educational training leading to a GED as well as vocational training in the construction trades.
