NJCDC Launches the NJ4S Passaic County Hub

NJCDC Launches the NJ4S Passaic County Hub

July 25, 2023

NJCDC is excited to announce that we have been selected by the New Jersey Department of Children & Families to serve as the Passaic County Hub for the new New Jersey Statewide Student Support Services (NJ4S) program. NJ4S is a response to a youth mental health crisis affecting young people across the nation, and the Passaic County Hub will provide services to K-12 students enrolled in public schools—at any school in the county. As we prepare to launch this new program, NJCDC wants to ensure that the Hub fully meets the needs of all students, families, and educators in Passaic County.

The new NJ4S model consists of 15 regional hubs throughout the State of New Jersey, which will enable the statewide delivery of prevention services in schools and in the community. Each hub is responsible for mobilizing mental health counselors and prevention specialists to serve students at schools and community locations throughout Passaic County. Services provided by the Passaic County Hub staff will focus on prevention—such as bullying prevention, suicide prevention, substance use prevention—and will include some clinical services to stabilize students in need of immediate intervention. Hub staff will also connect students and their caregivers with other community services, both clinical and non-clinical, to benefit student social, emotional, and mental health and well-being.

The exact services offered will depend on the needs expressed by Passaic County community members, whose needs will be reflected through an active Advisory Group. We'd very much like to hear from you. Please fill out the below surveys to ensure we provide support that targets your needs.

We are excited to serve all Passaic County youth and their families through this new program. Please reach out to NJ4S@njcdc.org to learn more about linking services to your community and how to get more involved with this new initiative.
